My friend got his gsi stole the other night but had it recovered. I looks to me like they've broke an engine mount "engine is sitting down at one side" would that be right? and the fan belt snapped too.
How much would this cost to be fixed? is an engine mount a expensive/difficult thing to replace/fix?
Cheers any help would be great!!

what reg is it? what engine code?
if its a early one it could be the rubber
sounds like its the later one and the alu mount has gave way
scrappy parts will set you back about £30 tops then the new drivebelt ontop of that

Its an L reg C16xe. only had 63,000 on her. It had a rocker gasket leak for a few weeks before and i think maybe that that has helped it on its way maybe?

looks like a late spec mount on a early car
anyway if the rubber isnt split you will need a late spec alloy mount and the bolts seem to be missing to so the 3 bolts aswell
scrappy possible £20
vaux about £50 ish

yeah if the rubber is ok, then youll need a mount the alloy bit and the mount-to-engine bolts
and a drivebelt of course

the mount is 40 and the rubber one is around 50. or ring autovaux. the rubber ones are always split so u may get away without changing it
