the 309, hasd 2 of them and thought the handling was amazing on it, either a 205/309 GTI/Mi16 for track use, youd struggle to find a decent 106 GTI/Rallye for £1.5k

106 Rallye.

cheap. handle well. cheap to fix.

on standard susspension 1.3 rallye will beat more of the others on your list handling wise.

I was going to vote Nova (Valver) as £1500 will buy you one already converted with uprated suspension & Brakes etc as you already know...

But then I remembered my mates Mk2 GTi Golf that he keeps over at the Nurburgring. Its a standard 16v Engine with Bilstien "Yellow" shocks and Eibach springs and G60 brakes and wheels. Its cost him a total of £1600 so far and we were lapping in the low 9mins!!! I was pleasantly surprised what a good track are it was with minimal mods

So that would be my choice.

Neil
