Hi, what would people recommend as a first engine mod on the redtop??
It has a cotton airfilter and 2"25 full exhaust system on it already.
how much of a difference will i gain with cams ??

Get a Unichip. Don't piss about with Superchips or any of that tat.

cams and vernie pulleys then save up for a set up

i would save for some TB's if not buy cams and verniers as above and the TB's after lol

don't forget to get ARP rod bolts if you are increasing the rev limiter. I would also say cam, chip it and a decent exhaust system.

reprofiled cams are cheaper than cams made from blanks. A lot of company does this, Regal, Courtney, lmf.

Keep your eye out on Migwebs classified as a set of cams can be picked up for around the 100-150 mark and around 100 for verniers. Then get the lot set up, then do tb's. This way you get decent progression without having to undo any work etc

I would recommend using AST1612 cams, i can do them reprofiled for about £220.
ARP rod bolts are always a wise choice.
Then chip.
