OK abs light is on and is a bit crappy on low speen breaking a quick seach said a multimeter can be used to test sensors any more info on this

yeah, use the probes with the multimeter against the abs sensor plug on the hub, spin the wheel whilst taking a reading. a fluctuating reading indicates a good sensor, no reading indicates a duff one.
