HITCHIN TOWN 0-4 LUTON TOWN
The Hatters recorded a 4-0 victory over Hitchin Town in their first pre-season friendly thanks to first half goals from Kevin Nicholls, David Bell and Rowan Vine. Northern Ireland international Warren Feeney added a fourth four minutes from time to complete the scoring.

St Albans 0-6 Luton (Howard, Langley, Vine, Holmes, OG, Feeney)
Apparently, the original ref refused to let the game go ahead after it was made known Newell wanted to play two different sides, one in each half - which is contrary to the friendly rules of 6 substitutes (even though we did this on saturday, and I imagine lots of other teams have done/will do the same), and if we insisted on more changes he'd call the game off. Which he did. But then our programme editor stepped in and ref'd the game instead!
