Reason I ask is I know someone with a coupe, and I do like it despite being a Honda owner (dont flame me steve) I think they look rather nice. Anyway this guy seems to think he can race the world and win. It's got a uprated turbo, but even so with just that is it enough to make it as quick as the current crop of hot hatches.
I would like to see how my car compares but he saw me behind him yesterday and started driving like a unt in a 30 zone!! The guy clearly cant drive so I was keeping back. Below (windows paint special) is an example of his line when taking a corner. The car was all over the shop and looked as though he was braking as he did this Poor car

Against a Cupra-R no chance
Against a Type-R no chance (well maybe if caught in the right gear and the Coupe is on cam MAYBE but in the long run no chance)
Focus ST, doubtful again.
Intresting race I had on a slip road onto the M25 with a Clio 172 in my Coupe, he didn't pull away from me, I was seriously not impressed with the Clio.

Thought as much.
Still nice looking motors. I shall send him a link to this thread in the hope it calms him down before he crashes

So are you talking about the 2.2 NA or the 2.0 Turbo? Cos you say 2.2 in the title but then you say turbo?

TBH I have no idea I just thought the way the guy was talking it would be a big engine.
Its def a turbo as he had a bigger one put in, well so he claims.

If it is a turbo then its a 2.0.
Should be similar performance to the CTR and Cupra-R.

well they are 197 as standard so should be as quick as a LCR and CTR in all honestly - although the astra and CTR will be slightly lighter

FFS are you talking about the 2.2 16v or the 2.0 16v Turbo?
If your talking about the Turbo it would keep up with all of the above (beat the CTR), and rinse the Focus.

Had a look on some sites and it seems to be a second down 0-60mph and 2 seconds down to a 100mph.
So it's not going to be flying past any of the above, and it wont get left to far behind.
It's not going to rinse the focus, and I would think taken to a track the coupe would struggle a bit?

If your talking about the Turbo I can guarantee it will keep up with the Leon, beat the CTR in many circumstances and deffo beat the Focus ST (are we talking about the ST170 or the new 2.5 Turbo ST?) If the latter it will get beat by that.

For arguements sake lets say it's the turbo. 197bhp 1345kg.
Focus st 222bhp 1392kg
Civic 197bhp 1204kg
jdm civic 212bhp 1190kg
cupra r 222bhp 1376kg
All figures taken from lets torque bhp.
As I keep seeing nothing against the Astra as it's a sweet looking motor that I wouldnt mind having, BUT this guy is not going to be killing off any of the above. More likely to kill himself the way he drives it.
Where's Steve? He is the Cupra r expert

Forgot to ask about his uprated turbo. How much extra power would that give? Rough estimates anyone?

I would have thought the LCR was heavier than that
