It's only if your being really fussy tbh, i use http://www.ink4u.co.uk/ and they're ink does just a good enough job

After about 9 months of using the non epson ones the ink will block the print heads and you'll then have to chuck it in the bin and buy a new printer.

I dont use my Printer very often and I noticed that the cheaper ones go dry and stop printing if not user regul;arly

That goes for all ink really it will dry after a while but especially the cheap ones do that.
Best to just print a test page off every week or so to keep the ink flowing

Corb - I'd never use a third party cartridge as they can damage the printer.
