slam panel

you'll need to weld two triangles on the front and back corners of the bonnet opening

then put the pins on them, and dab a bit of yellow paint on the ends, then put the bonnet on, take it off, and drill the holes where the paint is

if you look at my engine bay, the two diagonal bars at the back are for pins, and i plan to do the same at the front, but with flat metal plate

it hasnt yet, but it will have soon

if you have them on the front, you need them on the back too, or you cant close the bonnet

if you have them on the back, you can use the standard latch on the front

BUT, its easier to just have 4 pins, so the bonnet just comes off easy (this is my plan)

i'll dig out a pic of a 4 pinned bonnet if i can find one

correct, just weld a plate and drill some holes

the pins are in 2 bits, on bit is secured to the body, and its like a knitting needle, with a hole in it

then there's a bit which attatches to the panel you want it to, which has a sliding circular bar on it, with a round metal thing at the end

the bar slides into the hole, and secures the panel, then the round metal loop is pushed over the top, and it secures the whole thing

its easier just to work it out for yourself though, quite hard to see from a description

Pins arrived today.

Whats better to fit them on? Pop rivets or screws....they came with screws, but will rivets be a bit neater?

Also along with the screws came some little black jobbys, im guessing theyre kind of like washers, but not sure, will have to post pics i think..?
