I doubt the petrol will be slow, dont think i'd ever get a diesel. Yes modern ones are impressive but i prefer smooth power all through the range and not just one big lump of power when the turbo kicks in.
If I could get an Anniversary 1.8t, silver, 15,000 miles, not sure on the year but around 03 I think. Absolutly immaculate for £9,500 would that be cheap?

Sure Ive got a clarkson DVD where he drag races a gti anniversary against two other cars, one being a rover 25 diesel, and the golf gets embarassed. Thinks hes on about how goldfs seem to be going downhill every new model.
