I want some software that will record a mix im doing on PCDJ and then save it as mp3 format.

It's down to your soundcard and drivers whether it can record from the pc, if you look under the recording section, under the advance section in windows mixer, if you have the option it will be something like Stereo or Mono mix. Up that and you should get a level of the pc's output!
Otherwise you can go out of the pc and back in again, but you need to make sure the recording program is set to mute whilst recording as feedback can occur.
Software wise, i would get Cool Edit - its what Adobe Auditions was before adobe snatched the company up, seems to run a little quicker than Auditions now.
