How can i net send without a domain? only knowing the pc name and the account name on the other machine im trying to net send to?

if there on your domain netsend to ip or pc name

i know the pc name is pc_03

ive tried
net send pc_03 test message

but not able to send that

The syntax of this command is:


NET SEND
{name | * | /DOMAIN[:name] | /USERS} message

net send /D:PC_03 Test

use the computer name as the domain name ;)

Sam - if there running XP Service Pack 2, unless the Messenger service has been manually enabled on each client, or via a GPO, then the NET SEND function wont work...
