Hi I am looking for a corsa 1.6 sport.

Just wondering can anyone tell me what the tax costs on one now? (6months and a year)

Also does the 1.6 16v engine in the sport have the same smoking habbits as the gsi. I have heard of many (including my previous gsi) that require new valve stems etc.

Any info appreciated

The smoking you refer to was an early problem with the C16XE engine found only in 1994 GSi's. Vauxhall decided to fit undersize pistons and they were recalled.

The later ones do not suffer from this problem.

The X16XE engine found in the 1.6 Sport is the game as the latter GSi's

I've had no smoking from my 1998 1.6 sport,(touch wood) just had the common crankshaft oil seal to replace and a water hose that was rubbing a little while ago around 70k miles.

Mine doesn't smoke.

I was surprised how much oil it uses though.

Depends how i drive.

At worst, maybe half a litre every couple to three weeks.

mine uses no oil either on a R but only done 40k
