As you may know I recently got caught doing 36mph in a 30mph zone, I sent off the NIP to state I was the driver, and Thames Valley Police have sent me an offer whereby I can pay £74 to go for a 3 hour speed awareness "workshop" and have no endorsements on my licence.

Mine is the first one (SAS Workshop - urban roads).
Anyone here done it before?

Do it, definitely! They'll just teach you the dangers of speeding and take you out in a car and teach you how to drive responsibly. I'd do it over points any day of the week!

No points and no fine, just £74 to the speed awareness company for their "workshop".

Anyone know how they decide who does the course and who just gets fine and points? Can you ask to do the course? Brother just been caught at 32 in a 30 (how pedantic) and has just been told he'll get 3 points and £60 fine!

copper pulled him over, told him he was speeding, brother questioned it, said his speedo said 30 etc, questioned the 10% allowance thing, copper just said that they are cracking down on speeding, no more allowance, he was clocked at 32 in a 30, which is speeding, tough basically
