What you do is you sell your car and buy one with a sunroof on it already.

No I'm telling you what you need to do. You can't simply cut a hole in the roof and put a sunroof in. It doesn't work like that. The roof pannel is pressed out to allow the sunroof to seal in. The only way to do it is to remove the whole roof pannel and replace it with a sunroof pannel. That is not a feasable thing to do to a car to be honest.

I'm sure there are people out there who will happily cut a hole in your roof and put a sunroof in for you, but it will leak and be shit. Also, the roof pannel is one of the most important structural parts of the car.

So can the sarcasm, ta.

My mom went to buy a metro from a dealer years and years ago (she had one before that but it got in an accident and she wnated another). The one she liked didnt have a sunroof and she wnated one, so the dealer had one fitted for free. You wouldnt have been able to tell it wasnt like that from new and it never leaked or anything.

So yes it can be done and done well. How much it would cost on the other hand i dont know..

but as ed said, are there no implications of cutting sections of panel out in order to fit a sunroof?

depends on what you cut out

i've done it before! got the jigsaw out and cut the hole lol,

its not an easy task though, and depending on what you've done to ya car it might be worth buying one with sunroof

Would also mean you could sell the car on afterwards. Like fuck anyone is going to buy a car with a botched sunroof.

I've heard of it being done too, but I would never buy a car which has had a hole cut through the roof.

agree with Ed, its risky cutting up the roof of a car that isn't designed for you to do so, would that not compromise some of the structural integrity?

I wouldnt bother, after removing my sunroof and refitting after the car had been painted, I can see the complications of fitting one to a car that isnt supposed to have one, and would say you are better off selling and buying a car with one!
