Going to look at this tomorrow night. Any advice would be helpful. Basically its for my brother to learn in (just turned 17)

it will be very rusty i reckn at the age

i will guess round the filler cap will be rusty as fuck

rust is your main enemy, look round the petrol cap for obvious bodges as this is where they all go (pre 94) also the front and rear arches rust nicely and front and rear valances too, the 1.1 hcs engines are pretty reliable even though they sound knackered just look for obvious blue smoke and scum round the oil cap etc

sorry forgot the engine

stem oil seals love going, and tappits as mentioned, look for the obvious signs on blue spoke (white is also popular)

As said, there are better cars for a first motor. Old fordies arn't much good against rust generally

yes it very similar, i cant remember the exact diffrences, but front lower spolier is diffrent iirc

does the engine run? 1.8 for £30 seems dodgey mind you a car for £100 is just as bad.

fact it has a years MOT is worth £100, but there is something not right

theyre identical apart from the rs1800 doesnt have a trim strip round the top of the bumper whereas the xr2i has a blue one and the rs turbo has green one

Most spokes are the standard grey alloy colour

As i say its for my bro to learn in, as long as it is mechanically sound I dont care. Well bodywork would be a plus but at 13 years old I doubt it

ok it hasnt got that gay plastic slat between the bumper and bonnet
