Astra front lower grille ruins the front for me. Its almost got a distinctive face until you realise that the designers got an Astra bumper and shopped that on, and said that will do.

Its got too much front overhang and silly little front side windows, and the rear side windows are too small.

Back looks well but if you took the badge off you would have a job separating it from a Clio or even Micra from certain angles.

That said, it should drive well, and there's a VXR which apparently you can buy in white. I'll be curious to see whether in 13 years we'll be scouring eBay for VXR bumpers and removing the sat nav to lose some weight.

it was in auto express last week, got 4 stars.

they said "we didnt warm to the SXI's sports suspension.... the corsa never felt truly settled or completely comfortable"

"1.4 is frugal, but lacks power" - same engines as before, but more weight, the 1.0 and 1.2 must be dire.

"glovebox could be a little deeper" - i think thats down to the aircon

"1.7CDTi is strong, punchy and consistent" - 10 seconds to 60 compared with the 1.4's 11.8

then on the next page, they reviewed the 5 door, which looks better, the shape of the back end is slightly different, and it lacks the massive C pillar.

they liked the flex-fix pull out bike carrier thingy though
