My mobile phone contract comes to an end tomorrow, so yesterday I rang the orange upgrade line to see what new phone I could get. I like the look of the Samsung D900.
There were 3 that I could get for free but they were rubbish, worse than my current k750i.
So I rang the disconection line and said that I wasn't happy with the phones that I was offered. If I wanted a Samsung D900 it would cost me £125 to upgrade, but if I start a new contract through the Orange website then its free!
Whats the point in that then? It just means more hassle for me with keeping my number and changing direct debits.
For a company that promotes fair deals for existing customers then they aren't doing it very well!

They all seem to do it, it seems to be getting hard to get them to give in as well now.
I got to stay with the same comany as no one else matchs my package.

Should just be able to start a new contract but keep the same billing/number etc.
I get a handset every year and I've not changed anything on the account since I started the contract.

D900 isn't the best phone out there to be honest
Battery life isn't good, the 3mp camera is the worst out of the lot & its a bit too big & flat to feel comfy in your hand

I asked about this but I was told this is known as a 'back door upgrade' and is against Orange rules. Doesn't matter now anyway as I've taken out a new contract with 02 with a free D900.
I did fancy the new sony ericsson w850i but its not released until mid October and I couldn't be bothered to wait.
