Someone has sent me a document containing graphs (imported from Excel) and text with tracked changes.

In 'Page Layout' the whole lot looks fine, it also prints as it should.

When I go to 'Normal View' however the graphs and tables disappear (and are replaced by what seem to be Page Breaks).

Any idea why this might happen? I don't want to have to tell people to change the way they look at their documents just so they can view it properly.

is there a way that when a doc opens it picks the format in which it's displayed? ie in Page Layout view?

and for your info James, when using the Normal View in Word objects are not displayed to simplify the editing process and make things less complicated for the user.
