bit lower than expected again, but its a tight new engine.... so should loosen up (i hope)

Peak power seems low for the cams i'm using (rpm wise)

AK i wouldnt worry about what the RR says, you could take it somewhere tomorrow and it could make 220bhp, RR figures can vary so much from day to day and place to place etc

its not the figures that are the problem but the shape of the curve, to all those saying it would make more on another rR, the problem is not that its making 200hp ish at 6500rpm, but that the power curve should go virtually straight off the end at 7500 plus and make another 15--20bhp! Its not a case of the correct shape curve shifted down by a poorly calibrated rr, but an issue high up preventing it making peak power.

Got some feedback from Steve Broughton

Dear Adam

Sorry for the delay in replying.

>From the information you have sent to me and the fact that you are running an SBD manifold, the shape of the torque curve looks very good but obviously finishes too early. In actual fact the torque curve at the bottom end looks so good, its actually better than I would have expected to see from this kind of engine. It is almost as if there is a restriction in the exhaust or cylinder head. This allows the engine to work at the bottom end, but as the gas speed at higher rpm begins to travel very fast, it is not able to escape from the engine quick enough which causes the engines torque to drop off. I do not believe the injectors could create the problem, because normally if they don't work properly you would not get any bottom end either. Also check the cam timings to make sure they are correct, which would be 105 degrees on each.

Normally an engine that peaks too early is associated with incorrect cam timings, so please check these.

Regards
Steve
