Ive just read this in my local paper in the car section.

''Vectra and Monaro VXR models are already some of the most powerful cars on the road, but that hasnt stopped Vauxhall giving them even more grunt.
New 2007 model year versions of the Vectra VXR have had the power boosted from 255PS to 280PS, thanks to a redesigned induction system, modified engine components and returned electronic engine control software.
These revisions to the 2.8-litre V6 turbo engine knock four-tenths of a second off the 0-60mph sprint time taking it down to just 6.1 seconds for the hatchback and 6.3 seconds for the estate.
Meanwhile the Vectra's big brother has had an even more dramatic power boost, thanks to a supercharger.
The limited edition VXR500 is based on the standard 6.0-litre Monaro VXR, but uses forced induction to take the power from 403 to 500PS and torque from 530Nm to a massive 677Nm.
In addition to the positive displacement supercharger, the conversion also includes an upgraded fuel system, clutch revisions and bespoke engine tune.
Its expected the VXR will have a sub 5 second 0-60 time and a top speed in excess of 180mph, and it is yet suprisingly relaxing to drive, as most of the torque is available low down in the engines rev range.
This limited edition model is available for £35,995 on the road. Thats less than half the price of any other coupe with 500bhp''

Opinions? I like the sound of the monaro

that sounds sweeeeeeet!! the LS2 turns into a different beast when supercharged, almost as if it was always meant to be like that. the new HSV GTS has 430bhp N/A, and there will be a GTS-R using the LS7 7.0 V8 with 550bhp

i really do hope vauxhall sort the Vectra's handling out first

I know I'll need to zip the flame suit up but, I thought the Vectra would be quicker than 6.1 seconds.

Surely the Vectra does'nt need more power from watching it on Top Gear. Handling will have to be improved somehow.

The Monaros and Commodore V8's are tuned to 600bhp-1000bhp using these chassis', they handle it no problem

Jambo, i dont think the Vectra is aimed at the 3-series. Camry, Laguna, C5, Mondeo etc etc are all FWD
