Need one for typing up essays etc
Doesn't need to be a super dooper one but I don't want a base model either as it needs to last me a few years
Lass at work had an advent one - was crap
Don't want one of those!
Looked at a rather swish looking compaq one in Dixons, looks ace 120gb hard drive, 2 x 512 ram, dvd writer, centrino duo, wireless enabled etc etc

Thats £750
But I could get it for £675 in there as I get 10% off
Any good online shops to check out? Or any pointers for buying one?

Fair enough
Ive had a celeron that I use for work for the past 4 years and not had any problems apart from needing a new HDD! Having said that Ive never used anything else to compare it with at the same time.

Having a hard drive full to the brim with word documents has nothing at all to do with a celeron processor btw.
If you for some reason wanted to open them all up at once you'd run out of ram well before the processor was an issue.
