and where has he said that?
Ive heard him say it doesnt matter where we play, either in a new stadum or the old Anfield we will create a special atmosphere. But never anything about having a steep stand.
radi it in the daily mirror, he quoted that stadiums such as emirates dont have that same atmoshphere as ur sit so far away from pitch.

what would you want them to do, spend twice as much (which means less funds going elsewhere) doing something that isnt needed just for the sake of being different?

That's probably what corsa_dale would do if he were in charge......... but then it might not look that good

I think it looks decent! Like cosmo says we've struggled to raise the money for this so anything bigger and 'better' is out of the question. Everyone can rave about the Emirates but its got Arsenal into so much debt it'll be interesting to see how they get on coping with it. Im sure it'll be built with expansion work in mind anyway because it'll easily be filled every week.

to be honest it does, from a design point of view the stands arent tall but very deep. Such like highbury had a more clsoed in feel rather than emirates.

but who said it had to cost more money? being different doesnt always means it costs more.

Youve never sat near the back of the Kop, Upper Centenary or Main Stand at Anfield have you? They arey far from the pitch yet the atmosphere at Anfield is one of the best in the world.

when your talking about fitting 60,000 people round a football pitch, and all the safety and security aspects that come with that, anything different than the easiest and simplist way to build it will cost more money. Its not a coincidence that all the new grounds are being designed in this way.

lol well you dont acatully know if its the best atmosphere do you i mean thats a bit biast!!
and the reason why there being deisgned and built like this is because it wants to use the illusion that the stadium is bigger and spacious, a common idea of what most people think design should be these days!!
but i cant be bothered to argue with you cosmo cos on every post u ever post on this site u cant see further than your own views.

I said one of the best, not best. And that isnt my view, check interviews of players who have played there on a European night, or if asked about Anfield, all say its a very special place to go and play. Plus if you had been there for any big game you would agree.
Its designed that way as its the CHEAPEST way. A club who is struggling to find the money to build something wouldnt be choosing a design as it makes it look bigger over cost.
and good, glad Ive finally got you to STFU.

Unfortunately It doesn't matter where Liverpool play the cnuts always manage to make one hell of a noise so I don't see atmosphere being a problem. I will always prefer the older style grounds like Old Trafford but that is just not how modern stadiums are built for one reason or another. That looks like a decent ground with the added benefit that they are giving a lot back to the surrounding area with the other amenities that are included in the plan.
