I have a L reg 1.2, and i have a x14xe with all the bits, got fuel pump, header tank, box, shafts, loom, ecu, transponder, chip, and so on.
Now, i have been told my car does not have a speed sensor, and needs one, and i dont have the wiring for the transponder.
Has anyone got around this problem?
The only way i can see doing it is ripping out the dash & fitting a x14xe/x16xe car loom?
Please tell me theres another way!

Do you mean you don't have the wiring available for the transponder ?
You can wire it all in to your 1.2 loom. It all connects to the loom of the clocks. You will need to snip and solder in a lot of wires.
Do you have the transponder , chip and matching ecu ?

have the ecu, transponder, and chip.
Have the 14xe box, not using the 1.2 one, as its 4 speed!
In order for the ecu to work correctly, it needs to know how fast the car is going and what not, so needs the vss, which mine does not have the wires for.
Also, dont have the wiring for the transponder, but i can wire that in, its the vss im confused about.

yes they ahve an electronic speed sensor on the back of the clocks. You either have the one on the box or the one in the dash!
