but it won't solve your problem, and it won't acheive anything on a nearly standard engine.
you'll just get leaves, crisp packets, beer cans, stuff like that wedged up there all the time.
and main beam won't be as good, which it needs to be at winter.
believe me, i've been through all of it, its a pain.

it wont make any difference at all at idle though, the whole idea behind the morrette air intake is to duct air towards the filter while your moving, when your stood still there is nothing to push the air down the ducts

Will it help cool the engine bay down??? Should allow a better flow of air in and out.

If its an idle problem, its not your scoop induction kit. As the butterfly is closed @ idle.
Looking at that pic, i can see a small elbow coming off the pipe that not connected to anything.
Where is your rocker cover breather?

never came with the car.
I heard this doesnt make a difference - only on cold start ups its supposed to be better.

That might be something to do with it then.
In this pic you can see a hole in the inlet cam cover, that hole should have a pipe connecting it to the elbow on your scoop pipe.

I've seen some people actually poke the induction filter out of the morette light, and run a pipe to it...
Not a open filter in the bay, with a cold air feed running to it from a morette.

Yeah but you dont need it. It only recycles used air. Which can only really help on cold idle.

surely trying it to see if it helps the idle issue would be a good idea

I'd clean the throttle butterfly and idle air control valve and see if that helps and put the breather on to see if it makes any difference.

abit extreme, also im not looking to mod the car too much. I want to keep it fairly standard.

why do you want to modify the air intake then?

The rough idle is quite common on those engines.. seen quite a few that seam as if they have a slight miss but its perfectly normal..
