Do you have a user name with them 
My line is activated but i don't seem to have a user name. Can just use my old router whilst waiting for a new one but that requires a user name.

There send you the user detail on the day of activation. even tho the line is active the account on there servers wont be till the actual day thay have given you
normally you just need a user name along the lines on bob.goldfish @ btopenworld.com (without the spaces of corse)
the user name is norm the bill payers name in the format above ^^^^^

Did you not pick a username when you registered with them? When I upgraded from 56K to broadband they sent me an email with al the details on it that I would need to start using it i.e Username and password.

I have an e-mail address and password. Might try that
