I have been using the search on here to look for info on door smoothing and I spotted something about MOT requirements for an external door popper.
Can anybody enlighten me and, if we smoothed the doors, what are your suggestions for making sure the car is still MOT'able?
We are getting a Cat 1 alarm anyway so we can get the door popper accesories with this, anything else I should be aware of?
Thanks again

What you need to think about is worst case scenario (I pray it nevers happens of course)....how would emergency services get into your car to help you with no means to manually get in?
Also, if they did fail your MOT because of the smoothed doors...what would you do about it?
EDIT: Read this...and think about whether or not your windows are likely to be open all the time.
If I were you, I would just delock them. Emergency services would only figure out a release button if they know about it....if you're unconscious, they could be stuck

I have poppers under my wing mirrors. When the car is locked they do nothing.
Mine passes the MOT fine.

I think this is a very valid point and one I hadn't thought about at all. Thanks.
Will talk to Jay about the possibility of installing an external pop under the mirrows (as suggested below). Don't think I will have an issue with his idea as long as he addresses the issue of emergency access and keeps the car legal.
His car is now off the road whilst he saves up money for his head gasket repair (bummer) anyway so it would be a good time for him to think about any further bodywork changes cos he won't be going to the sprayer now until next year.
Think an April launch for his modded car. Just in time for the first Thunder MFN
Thanks again
