UPDATE:
24th March 2013
We've been busy over the last few months with the Motors. If anyone want to follow regular updates please 'LIKE' my page on Facebook 'Born in a Barn'
Ok, Update time. A mate of mine has moved his Mk2 Golf into the workshop which he's planning on racing later this year

First step.... Roll Cage

I've been slowly working on the wiring loom for my Corsa removing as much of it as possible.
This is how it started

This is mid way

No pics of it finished i'm afraid but this is everything I cut out of it

I finished trail fitting the dash

And fabricated brackets to hold it, like this one in the centre

The dash then went off for flocking (which I now have back, just haven't opened the packaging yet)
I've also got a new steering wheel for the old girl

And we've been modding the steering column so it sits lower (i'll show pictures of that when it finished)

We've been spending most of the last few months working on my mate Johnny's Astra Coupe which is coming along nicely and will be ready for Combe.
Here's where we've got to:
Gearbox with new Quaife Diff fitted getting a lick of paint

Centre console in primer ready for paint

Some hi temp resistant paint going on the calipers

New seal kit being fitted

Rear brackets being upgraded to Astra VXR Discs (pic of the conversion bracket)

And all fitted with Yellow stuff pads

We found a crack in the clutch plate so a new one will be going on before the gearbox is mated back up

Johnny making a filter heatshield

The Astra dash was also flocked (thanks Banbury flocking services, can't complement them enough!)

Johnny also has some new Bucket seats

The interior is getting there

And finally on his we've been welding in some load spreading plates for the Harness eyelets where the rear seats used to be

That brings us up to date with that.
Also i've been helping friends work on other vehicles....
Mark's Corsa VXR received an FMIC & Induction kit, whilst Steve's Astra Coupe was de-Catted and serviced amongst a few other things (pics below)

Yes I still have a Nova

Old v New

Also in another workshop I helped strip 'smokey' a 2.0 Corsa that appeared earlier on in this thread

The engine will be finding its way into another shell sortly (as that shell was knackered)

And finally save the best till last... For those of you who attend the Weekend Racer events you'll have probably met or seen Jase. He owned the Black (with Gold wheels) VX220 Turbo. Well he's sold that
but bought this instead

UPDATE:
8th April 2013
We have been trying for a while to figure out how best to fit an Oil Temp gauge to my mates Corsa VXR.
After lengthy investigation we've decided to put the sensor in the Sump.
Here's the sensor and Alloy boss from ebay

Drilling the sump

Boss in position

Boss Tig welded on

Temp Sensor protrudes through like this (also magnetic sump plug in that pic)

And finally a pic of his gauges. One for Oil Temp and one for Boost in the original center heater vents

Onto my Astra.
New Intercooler shown here next to the old one

Air con removed (20kgs saving!)

New Lightweight Alloy Underdrive pulley

And fitted

Took the wishbones off as the missus noticed the high speed handling feeling a bit dodgey. And on close inspection we found this! Powerflex bush split! Not good. So we replaced them with Whiteline ones instead

Back to the Intercooler

Trail fit... Plenty of optimizing to do

In the mean time....
New Helix Clutch plate on Johnny's Astra Engine

Why so Angry Sarah?

Engine mated to new Quaife equipped Diff

And in she goes

Sarah modding the bumper for the new Intercooler

Fifi Cold..... ALL DAY! He used a full tank of fuel in that thing. lol

Bastow installing speakers in his VXR

There was a full moon that night

Making blanking plates for ends of Intercooler

First trial fit

Cardboard mockup to remove all gap

Its also blanked off on top and underneath.... the Air WILL go through that Intercooler

Plates welded up and ready for Powder coating

And done

And fitted to bumper

And there it is.... New and Improved Intercooler with the most efficient flow I could achieve

I'll just remove the Numberplate on track for Optimum flow

Fifi fitting some Carbon sideskirts to his Evo

Re-Wrapped 3" Downpipe for Johnny's Astra

And fitted

And finally a small update on Colin's racecar Golf.... Cage is starting to take shape
