worn battery down by trying to start it lol
firing, you mean spark?
the car was running fine before fixing the fuel gauge and now wont start.
i was driving it witht he gauge not working for ages, fixed it and now it wont start. is it possible that the ecu could be over fueling it stopping it from starting??

changed plugs, has fuel ( obviously )
wasnt able to check for spark as i was on me own.
it ran a few times, sounded like only a few cylinders where firing
the old plugs where black.
haynes states:
Fault: over-rich fuel mixture
Carbon fouling - dry sooty deposits.
check float level
choke operation
air filter
car was running a little funny sunday from the wet
any idea's?
thanks

You can't flood it.
every time the engine turns over ed with ecu etc connected it will put fuel in. take the king lead off your car and test it. turn it over for a minute and see

Firing as in firing,lol.
Can you hear it trying to start? Or does it just turn over and over, no change in sound.
Do you have a timing light? If so clip it onto each ht lead, see if your getting a spark at each lead.
What engine is it?

I've had it running for 10 seconds a few times, only sounds like a few cylinders are working.
The air filter sounds well loud
Touch the accelerator and the car dies
Kind lead? the connection to the injectors ecu?
It's a C16XE
Just had a new pump, relay and crank sensor
Thanks guys
checking for spark tomorrow. tho i do think it does.

exhaust stinks of petrol as well.
some one told me to check it.
maybe it means it's flooded with petrol
