you need to set up port forwarding from the router to your pc & use a set port...
should be a post somewhere here for info, or google it

Any decent torrent site will have banned bitcomet so I would steer clear.

Prefer sites that begin with W and end with Z for downloading stuff, especially when you have a rapidshare account

Yep, Azureus and uTorrent would be the torrent clients of choice for any discerning downloader these days. It is really important you forward the ports but as I mentioned in another thread, the magic range is 49*** up to around 60000. Don't just use the default ports assigned by the client.
