is there a 'switch box' so that i can have 2 HDMI and just flick a swith to change which one i use rather than keep unplugging them?

It's not cheap because it's a digital signal as oppose to an analogue one.

i refuse to use ebay matey, bad experiences recently with non payers/ products missing etc.

It's up to you but the guy has over 21,000 feedback with zero negatives for half the price I'd risk it.

I've never really understood this. Why does it matter i its an analogue signal to a digital one?

As long as the components you are using can handle up to the frequency HDMI signals flow at then there should not be that major a problem. Its just one or off.

Within a few years I can see these coming right down in price - they are more expensive due to being fairly rare still but as more things come out with them people will need them..
