no, you can check it all yourself with a multi-meter. check the voltage of the compressor surge, should be less than 5v
also, the cnageover flap should move freely once youve reached 5000rpm, if it doesnt, its possible the cog or chain has broken, you should be able to see this without removing a lot of parts from the engine

and they would effect starting it from cold? as from warm its fine..

yeah, maybe the cog is seized not allwing it to open and flow enough air into the other 2 cylinders, which would make it run poorly, idle poorly and cause the handbrake light to occasionally flash, or headlights to dip at night
