I use ron 97 and 98 when i can get it.
I get more to the gallon and it runs smoother for me.

my mate has a 300zx n/a, tried tesco 99 and said it was shit.
my other mate swears by shell v power, to be honest its cheaper than the 97ron ultimate, and better i'd imagine. supermarket fuels are pishwater.
i'm trying to use v power in the civic but the nearest shell gear is a bit away.
plenty of bp's near though, no 102.

My car runs like a bag of shit on 95, I stick to V-Power, it seems to run the best on Shell fuel. It doesn't like BP Ultimate either.
IIRC only 6 BP's in the UK sell 102 RON and they're all south of the watford gap.

A fuels RON rating is basically its resistance to detonation. I use V-Power in the Tuscan, I doubt in a standard NA car it will make a big difference but anything that will help to stop det must be worth something. More of a safety thing than a power thing.
Cars that run a knock sensor will see a gain over standard fuel. If the car senses little or no knock it will advance the ignition timing and give you more power! I wouldnt run a turbocharged car on anything less than 97, I used to use V-power and octane booster in the P1 for about 101 RON.

the 102ron stuff was tested by EVO a few months back in a 996 GT3.
was pretty good.
Made about 20bhp over standard. after being mapped to run on it they got 50odd bhp over standard.
