Yeah, the SBD 256bhp is a bench tested figure.

They're very similar engines tuned, just the TU has a few things better as standard.

Inlet mainly

Head probably flows better, cams might be a longer duration/higher lift.

The 1700cc xe uses bigger valves than the 1587cc 106 Maxi.

I want someone to try a sportex out, the design looks right but no one is man enough to test them. I emailed Bic about his system on the maxi and he said he can get the manifold and system imported from france for £700. Id be tempted personally.

Bic's manifold has 45-46mm OD manifold primary pipes & 2.5" system.

The manifold & system bic uses will be to big for my engine's needs, 42mm OD primary pipes & 2.25" system will suffice.

Dave do you know what the bore of Raceland, milltek, supersprint etc manifolds are, are they all 2.25?

OD of Raceland primaries are 38mm... the manifold should be good for up to around 180bhp.
