mother in law got a laptop for crimbo and she turned it on and it wont load.
a windows message pops up saying
"the system is not fully installed. please run setup again.
any help people, tried the recovery cd but dont do owt.

before the windows logo comes on when you turn it on, press delete afew times and it should come up with a menu normally in blue background with yellow writing. go to the menu that says "advanced BIOS settings" or something along those lines and look for 1st Boot Device and make sure its on CD-ROM. turn it off and then turn it back on. when a black screen comes on with white writing (again before the windows logo comes up) it'll probably say "press any key to boot from cd" at the bottom. press any key and it'll load windows from the cd.
ps at one point you'll get an option to install windows and another option saying the same thing saying (quick) make sure you click the quick one
