Mate seriously, for £2500 you;d be getting a hanging S1, you need to pay at minimum £4000 for a half decent one and then they'd need work.
For £2500 you'd get a good S2, but that would still need a little work. I love them both, but I chose the S2 because I couldn't fault the one I was offered! Best bet is to spend the £2500 on a S2 that's just had an engine and turbo rebuild, with a solid shell, a little bit of money can sort cosmetics but it'll cost a bomb if you blow the engine!!

I think your definately right. Im looking at moment at either an escort or fiesta rst, but swaying more towards rs1600i's, finding one is the only problem. Then again, my mind changes from day to day!

James, do NOT buy a Fiesta Turbo, they can be dreadfully unstable under hard braking from high speeds.
They are also very naughty handling wise due to forced induction combined with their narrow track, short wheelbase, and weight or lack thereof.
