I'd have the 306. Better car in the long run, be better on the motorway/ long distance too.

my ex had a 306 GTi-6 at 19 so it should be expensive but managable.
The 306 gti6 is a fantastic car, round corners with its rear wheel steering it is incredible.
turning circle is w*nk though because of the 6 speed box!!!

yes Steve, they have passive rear wheel steering, like the golf gti mk1 and 2, and the 205.

yes passive rear steering, i never knew the name of it, its not rear wheel steeering in that the rear wheels turn slightly when you turn the front wheels, its only applied under force when steering

my mate had a 306 rallye, that was quick, but they are quite big, 106 is still comfy in standard form imo.

I know, but the 306 has more goodies, and id imagine its a little bit safer, and not forgetting a tad quicker

Id take the 306, Just the comfort and the goodies would do it for me. As you say as well it would be alot safer bit more grunt and the 6 speed box as well.
The 306 is still looks the part as well, especialy in black
