oooh, good choice. I'm sure you know though, sparkling graphite is a shite colour and looks purple at certain times in the day Silbergrau would work though, would be very CSL themed there.

Whit is probably the easier option to be honest.but it's been done quite a few times now.
Atlas grey is quite a rare mk1 colour as they didn't make many

havn't updated this for ages so here goes.

All holes that i don't want welded up and filled

2nd skim of filler

holes for loom and heater matrix sanded down and primed

Heater motor hole all sanded down and ready for paint

Managed to get a few coats of primer on so i can crack on flat it down and get some colour in there.

Got the bay painted today and a couple of coates of laquer on there.I'm going to give it 4 or 5 more coates but here are a few picks.

Lights and intercooler in

Bits and bobs painted up ready to put the suspension back on and get it back on its wheels.

Wishbones painted and polybushed

linkages and rear wishbone mounts painted

Servo and linkage painted

Engine bits painted up I am painting the whole engine Flat black.

Supercharger and U bend I originally did these bits in crackle paint but didn't like it so sanded it all back down again

Steering rack polybushed/new track rod ends and fitted also got the fuel lines back in place and new brake pipes.

Wishbones back on with new bottom ball joints
New top mounts for the coilovers and fitted.
Painted the driveshafts and fitted the hubs and shafts

Back on her feet at last

Pushed her out the garage so i could get access to my engine which was at the back behind the car.

The bay is very dusty already so i cleaned all the garage out

Pushed the car back once i had got the engine out.

Also took the dash out while it was outside.

Painted the engine and gearbox in flat black

Once dried i put some polybushs in the engine and box mounts.
I also thought while it was ready it would have been rude not to pop the engine back in

Thats all for today more next weekend.
