did you hear any det noise from it? i cant make it out from the pics, but is there alot of damage to the edge of the pistons?

the pistons are worst at top n bottom of face. Edges arent too bad.

Looks to be too much extra metal in there

my pistons looked like that first time my engine went, turned out being the valve guides were broken and had got down to piston then all got smashed up.

the head gasket (metal cometic HG) was the incorrect bore size for the 88mm bore of the engine.

All 4 pistons were scored, block was scrap etc.

you would never hear det without cans on that car/engine. It is VERY VERY loud

the engine sounded fine round the track, then just started rattling and banging in the pits at idle speed

this engine is 'new' - ive been through 3 or 4 blocks now in 2 or 3 years.

id rather split it than pay for it.

I'm just stripping it and fault finding just now before taking my finding to wallace if there are signs of there workmanship being at fault.

If its something just gotten into the cly through the TB's fair cop - strip the car or plonk a std c20 in

Not had much luck dude

Deffo doesnt look to good, I think you need to re-evaluate your driving style

I wouldnt even consider Wallace if i wanted to by a Grommit!! I would cut your losses now

couple of things that could be, take no2 piston out, you may find that a ring has broken up, or maybe a piston skirt has come apart?

just looked too close to my own one
is it just standard ones you have in there??
iv got bronze ones now and had no more problems
