What oil do people recommend for use in a heavily modified C16XE (revs to 8k, 169bhp, omegas, cams, L&B etc.)?
I've always used Vaux semi-synthetic, but I think it's time I used some proper oil.

Cheers!

Mark was using 10w40 GM stuff Oli, he bought a crate of it somewhere (ebay I think)

If you buy shitloads and change it and the filter every 300 miles or so, it'll be fine

yeah, that's all well and good, but you can get a crate of about 25 bottles and a box of 50 filters on ebay every now and then

I use Halfords motorsport oil. think its 5w 40 (I have a similar engine spec to yours) and it has been fine on that. cheap too using a halfords trade card.

its a fully synthetic oil and was reccomended to my by a few people that work for race teams.
