Hi people this is my first post on the forum. Im 17 and drive a 1.2i corsa.
1st question...with insurance being so high n stuf i was looking for a cheap way to change the standard rear lights, a mate who works in motorworld suggested spray tinting them blue to match the car. But the spray tint is almost £20 so for an extra £25-30 i could get lexus lights or something. Was just wondering what u think on using normal spray cans 2 tint them very lightly misted. Has any1 ever done this?? I tried it out on my number plate light in silver and that worked ok but with rear lights u obviously need 2 be able to see the brake lights and indicators in the day time.

Iv got some lexus lights you can buy for thirty squid if you want?
My lights are sprayed black, on a blue corsa and looks pretty good but remember its not that legal!

Mite b interested i think lexus would look pretty good on a blue car with colour coded bumpers aswell. Did u use the proper spray tint?? And them not being that legal is no problem, iv been stopped 3 times in 2 weeks as it is so nothing will change

the spray tint i used was a tenner, not from halfords just a local car specialist shop.
where abouts do u live?

There my rear lights smoked in blue pearl to match the nighthawke black paint and blue pearl.. I think it looks great and i have never been pulled for it. Exscuse it being dirty. And the rear wiper is now a 106 wiper

Body shop did them for me.. But to be honest its not something that isnt achievable by a rattle can. Just clean down the area with some white spirit. Get some very very fine sand paper. Or even better some wire wool or such like and just brush over the lights very lightly. Just to give the pains something to stick to as obviously its not an area which you can prime lol. Then clean down the surface again. Now choose the colour your wanting to spray the lights. (if this was done with a compressor and gun you could mix the paint into the laquer) As its done by a rattle can i think its best to just spray very very lightly (id say a good 30-40 cm away in an area where there is now wind. Do a couple of very light coats then laquer them a few times. Make sure the laquer can is at room temprature .. if its not the laquer will dry a milky white kind of colour .. which isnt the look you need lol. Just try it. Its not like you cant just rub them down with same paint thinnner if you do fuck them up,

will always be easier and most likely a better finish at a bodyshop. but it can be achieved reasonably easy at home with cans

gdgd wil ava go, only thing with gettin him to do it is its a bit awkward coz of stuf goin on inda family atm so best i ava go n hes the last resort

I always have a go at things my self. i have smoked loads of my rear lights and fron lights and after a few times i have always got them perfect. Just member to do all the preperation work and then it will turn out good in most cases. Bad prep always means a bad finish. so make sure you clean them thoroughly first!

I got a defect notice from the police for having mine tinted on my old corsa, not worth the hassle!
