You have to be able to answer these questions correctly...

- Do you resent never being good at football, and now wish to be centre of attention to show those guys who picked on you and your funny kicking at school?

- Can you fail to see the obvious handball in the box, two footed lunge that breaks a players leg or Wenger and Pardew acting like nancy boys in the dug out?

- Will you give in to pressure from Ferguson and add 10mins injury time if they arent winning?

After watching football for all these years those are the qualities I find 99% of refs have, so must be part of the criteria!

On a more informative note...clicky clicky

I was looking for that link, was struggling though

In all honest who would want to be a ref, especially in the lower leagues it's a lose-lose situation.

Im a qualified Ref

They normally run courses in your local area. Have a look on your Local FA or County Football Association Website for information. Think it I did an 8 week course to get mine. Course was easy enough, i've you've played the game then you'll already know all the basic rules, its remembering how big the ptich should, the weight of the ball etc which can be a bit tricky.

Mines just the basic one you can get but it allows me to Ref anyone up a to County Amater standard.

I've not done it for ages, used to Ref the little un's down my local clubs and done the odd 5-a-side. Its quite a good little earner, get paid about £20 per game plus expenses, and if your not too bothered about the abuse then its a good way to make a bit of extra cash.

I'm not too bothered about the cash Danny, I just want something to do. By an 8 week course, do you mean a full 8 weeks or at night etc?
