Hi all,
I've started to strip down and rebuild the x16xel engine I have,(Only a matter of time now jas ) jst looking round for the cost of parts, cant find much on it?
Basically i'll need a new full gasket set, new set of piston rings, and possible pistons too. do bepco do these parts for car engines? prices?
Also...anyone got a ballpark figure for lightening and balancing the crank/bottom ends?
much appreciated

you got to ask your self, it it worth it?
i asked today, looking at over £100 for rings, £80 for shells, then pistons and a rebore (vauxhall only sell oversize pistons now 0.5mm)
would be cheaper to buy a second hand engine, by about half the price

Fook me...£100 for rings?? there are only 3 on each piston
UPDATE got the pistons out via taking big ends off, and the psiton rings are all fine, yet the measure the exact ring end gaps, but all look fine 'n dandy, as do the bores.
Any idead as to cause of the problem? Was burning oil like hell on start up, lots and lots of blue smoke, seffo burning it. Valves (inlet) coated in oil, also inlet and throttle butterfly all floating in oil, as were the injectors.
Valve stem seals anyone?
