How long do you get to tax your car?
Like, my tax runs out tomorrow, won't be able to tax it till Friday.
Do you get a few days after your tax runs out to tax it?

Not sure how long you get after it runs out. Mines due end of feb, I think .
Will be taxing for 6 months.

You will be allright till Friday as long you don't drive it till you get the new tax disc

is it not instant now
as they give you several weeks warning by letter and you also have the option to buy tax online, so if you dont declare it off the road, surely they will instantly know you have no tax

The day the tax runs out is the day you become liable, there is no grace period to allow you to tax the car.

you can but take some vaseline with you incase you get pulled or are involved in an accident

You know what I find weird,
They say if it's not taxed the automaticly know it's not.
Yet they still have to send vans round checking cars that haven't paid tax?
