putting a micro SD slot on the D900 if you can only stick a 512 one in?
512 is fuck all!!.... not I need to find another use for my 2gig micro sd card

I believe 1GB sandisk cards work 
Also try formating the 2gb card in Fat16, don't add a volume label, insert the card and take a couple of pictures with it. See if it then recognises the card.

the laptop sees in if I run the pone in mass storage mode, but doesn't give me any options to format or anything

yeah, so the only way it seems to get my 2GB Sandisk to work in the D900 is to upgrade the firmware...
Carphone warehouse used to do this free, any ideas?

Can you see the memory card drive assigned in windows explorer?
Right click drive letter and format should be an option. You should then be able to choose the format type.

ok, in mass storage mode on th phone I see the drive letter E:....
I was weary of hitting format on that incase it turned out to be the whole phone

ok, so it keeps telling me there is no disk in drive e...
I need to get my 3 in 1 working so I can stick it direct into my PC... but that wont fecking read any SD cards at the mo for some reason
