International football is not a place to progress, you progress at club level then once your the best you get picked for your country. Walcott is the case in point, it doesn't work.

A ten minute cameo where he wasn't tested whatsoever on the backfoot doesn't mean he should be picked ahead of a seasoned pro that has done it all. Neville would be there every single time for me.

Neville v Spain - 80 mins did fuck all
Richards vs Spain - 10 mins nearly scored twice and was the only man with any interet in attacking

Its easy to come on with ten mins left and run at defenders, im not saying he won't end up a really good player i just personally believe Gary Neville has probably been one of if not the best right back in European football for a number of years.

Agreed but hes getting on... the poorer teams and friendlies are perfect time to experiment so try Richards
