From DVLA website:

How can I put my registration on hold when I decide to sell my car ?
You will need to complete a V778/1 - Retention of a Vehicle Registration Number application form. Application forms can be obtained from DVLA's network of local offices. The cost to retain a registration number is £105.

So they're just appealing because they're dateless?

They're only £30 anyway.

It's £105 if you are swapping it between 2 cars.

Yup, I guess, and if you're luck to find one with your initials, or have a short name.

Yes, they seem to be worth money, but are still very shit having to carry 3-4 meaningless numbers after your initials. Not too bad if you can string a word from them.

3 letter & 4 number plates are cheap shite
