has anyone does this? ive got terrible reception in my bedroom. just bought a dvb tv and it cant get digi at all... so im thinking of getting a bigger ariel and putting it in my attik and drilling a hole through to my room. just wondering, am i gonna get perfect reception? or just likely to be "better" than what ive already got (a shitty £10 indoor ariel) something like...

I had it set up that way at home, aerial in the attic, wire through the ceiling. Is like that to all the bedrooms.. Better if you dig out the wall and put a socket but we done that for only one room when it was redecorated.
Flat now (ground floor), has a big Ariel on the roof and then a cable running into the front room and one running into the bed room. Only way I can do it really without spending hundreds and tons of mess.

at home i've got my own aerial in the attic, it's about 4/5ft long....get a brilliant picture
I'd look at maplins and other places first though, might save a few pounds a beable to pick up a decent sized aerial

Bigger the better. Try and find out which direction to point it too.
