Hmm, thanks for that Steve and Colin....if I got it, I'd make sure I returned it to standard then!
Fook, thats not cheap at all, especially as it's been blanked off too. It's only been like that for 6 months or so, since he has had the car.

So what is the general consensus? To buy or not to buy?
Other G60s that I have seen seem to be a little out of my price range to be honest, but I like the idea of a supercharger
A 1.8 16V like Wilsons might be a better/safer option?

TBH with something like a G60 you don't get cheap good ones, only reason they'll be cheap is if they're tatty, and Jabbasport are very well known in the VAG world, (i'm sure Steve will know them!) if they say blanking things off is bad, i'd say stay away from it!!

I would build the cost of a SC service into the final price as it sounds to be needing one, taking that into account if theres one for say £3k with recent service with proof & without that stupid dump valve mod i would go for that!!
1.8 16v would be a safer bet, less to go wrong & still 150bhp (standard - same engine as a mk2 golf gti 16v) also I personally go on the local VW site where he bought it from & the last 3 owners also....it has been looked after I know that much!!

Hmmph, thanks Colin. How would you rate the 2.0 8v and 2.0 16v engines against the 1.8? Performance/reliablilty etc?

2.0 8v - widney touch with a barge pole. 2.0 16v iirc its 150bhp aswell but a heavier engine.
Ive always been told the 1.8 16v is the corrado engine to go for asides the VR.

Thats gorgeous, but out of my price range I'm afraid When I'm a fully qualified Optician, I'll all be better!
I'm just bored of my 1.2 8V Corsa....I could walk faster!

I suppose i could flip it and use it as a skip!! only joking bud, i hope you get something you like! I'd just recomend when buying VAG buy from an enthusiast, as they will be well cared for or standard. Mileage isn't normally an issue!!

Lol! Thanks Steve. I think I need to research it a bit more...I was just taken aback by the condition of the one I described when I went to see it at the weekend, I decided I wanted it without thinking of the logistics! If it wasnt for the supercharger, I think It'd be on my driveway right now...I wish

get signed up to a vag / corrado forum, ask them loads of questions etc... they'll be more helpful than 99% of people on here as they own them!!
I've got to do this for Captain Seat www.vagweb.co.uk
