Found a lovely example of a china blue gti on ebay, 2 prev owners, v reg, 65k miles, FSH, completely standard. Rang up and was gonna view it tomorrow or on mon, was gonna take £2.5k cash which is probably optimistic but all he could do was say no. Then I get a text, hes sold it for 2k What a plank.

Keep searching for a 106 GTI in white. I really do like the rallyes in blue.

Keep searching, I was looking for 3 months for my Black Civic VTI. Checked everyday online. It will be worth it in the end

I love my mates rallye, drove it the other day love everything about it except its too slow ! which is what would make me pick the gti , if you could get a rallye with a 16v engine i would have one anyday over any gti or vts

i thought about a 16v engine spoke to a few people who said the 8v was better for low end torque and whith some work would keep up with a 16v

but then a 16v with some work would be miles ahead init

The 8v is all torque, its a disappointment TBH.

The 16v is head & shoulders better than the 8v.

For the money you need to spend to get the 8v up to decent power you could buy/fit a 16v anyway.
