hi,

i have a dell optiplex mini/slim tower gx280 pc
XP with 3ghz processor speed and 2gb ram, it has a built in 128mb card but it is rubbish!

im after a decent 256mb graphics card with 1 vga out and either 1 hdmi or dvi out, but i have no idea what type i need for my pc???

their is a black coloured slot on the main board, but the rear panel were the connections would go is small in length because of the small tower case??

also it has 1 white PCI slot which has a sort of adaptor making 2 pci slots with larger length panels on the rear for the connections, not sure if this is pci express though??

please help

Service tag?

iirc it has a pci-e slot although if you get the service tag i'll find out.

Does have pci-e 16x slot.

If the card will physically fit in though it'll depend on what case you have.

oh i see, so they both pci express slots then, i just want to confirm that is the were the graphics card can only go??
as it has a built in graphics card already!

and what is the black coloured slot for??

looks like i need a card which will fit the black pci express slot then, so i need a slim line card as the panel on the back for the connections is short in length!

so the other 2 white slots are for other accessories, not graphics cards!
